They were easy to deal with from our initial enquiry, through to installation of the screed on site. Their knowledge of different products and uses helped us to choose the most suitable product for our building and that experience enabled us to save time elsewhere in the project.
I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others in the industry.

FAQs
What services do you offer?
We provide a full nationwide floor screeding service ranging from small home extensions to major projects. From single room extensions and refurbishments to full new builds we supply and install traditional sand and cement screeds, fast drying screeds, levelling screed, insulation, damp-proof membranes, and underfloor heating packages UK wide. Every project starts with us understanding your sites requirements, floor finishes, and timings, then recommending the right screed system and build-up for your home or development.
What type of projects do you handle?
We work on all sizes of projects. From small extensions, garages, and minor renovations through to full new build houses, self builds, and major developments. Whether it’s 20m2 to 2000m2 we apply the same level of planning, care and workmanship to every project. No matter the size of installation every project gets the same level of care and attention – with clear communication, dependable start times and high-quality screed finishes ready for your chosen floor coverings.
How long does floor screed take to dry before I can walk on it?
Because liquid screed needs a polythene ‘tank’ installing before installation homeowners and builders often opt for a traditional screed to cut down the slow, labour-intensive process of ensuring that every polythene joint and penetration has been meticulously taped and sealed to prevent the liquid escaping. Unlike liquid screed, traditional sand and cement screed can be precisely adjusted on site. Levels can be subtly fine-tuned as you go, making it easier to alter on-site levels and form falls, ramps and steps to marry up existing substrates and thresholds.
Traditional screed also offers more predictable drying and curing. In most cases, it’s ready to directly receive floor finishes without extra processes such as laitance removal, sanding or grinding, which are commonly required with liquid screeds. Where many liquid screeds rely on costly specialist primers, expensive tile adhesives and compatible levelling compounds, traditional sand and cement screeds avoids these additional products keeping follow on costs down.
How much will the floor screeding cost?
The cost of floor screeding depends on a few key things – the floor area (m²), thickness, type of screed and how straightforward the job is to access and prepare. Because of that, every project is priced individually, but we can give some useful guide figures.
For most domestic projects, a standard traditional sand and cement screed typically starts from around £18–£22 per m² on a reasonable-sized area at standard depth. Smaller rooms, awkward layouts, extra thickness or difficult access (stairs only, long carries, limited parking, etc.) will increase the price per m² slightly, while larger, open areas are usually more cost-effective.
On top of the screed itself, the overall cost can be affected by:
- Screed type – standard vs fast-drying or specialist systems
- Depth – thicker screeds use more material
- Preparation – insulation, DPM, edge strips, priming, UFH, etc.
- Location & access – how easy it is to get materials and equipment to the working area
- Timescales – whether you need accelerated drying to keep your programme on track
Because there are so many variables, the best way to get an accurate figure is a free, no-obligation quote. Send us your plans or room sizes (and, if you know them, your build-up and floor finishes), and we’ll come back with a clear, itemised price with no hidden extras.
What do I need to do before screeding begins?
For most homes, the preparation is simple and straightforward, especially with traditional sand and cement screed, which doesn’t need anywhere near as much intensive prep as liquid screed. We carry out a thorough pre-contract process, checking drawings, levels and build ups, guiding you every step of the way so you know exactly what’s needed and when.
Before we arrive, we normally just ask for:
- Clear, tidy areas – floors swept, no tools, rubbish or loose debris.
- Weather-tight building – doors/windows in or temporarily sealed.
- UFH and services fixed in place – pipes clipped and pressure-tested.
- Insulation/DPM laid (if required) – flat, taped and not damaged.
- Heights agreed – finished floor levels and thresholds confirmed.
- Access, power and water – reasonable parking, hose point and power on site.
Because we’re using sand/cement, don’t worry you don’t need to spend hours creating a fully sealed polythene “tank” and meticulously taping every edge to stop liquid running away.
We will guide you through the basics and handle the rest, keeping the process as easy and stress-free as possible.
